What would you do

In How to work better on April 8, 2009 by Danielle Tagged: , , , , , , , ,

Recently I have been enjoying the work scenarios presented in a column called Make Your Case that are featured on the Harvard Business Publishing website.  A couple of them have had me seething from the sidelines, especially the most recent one, featuring a boss who gives her employee the thumbs down on a vacation, requested 4 months in advance.  They are not black or white though, and any sort of advice column that is not trite is well worth a read.  Does the boss have good reason, perhaps, for her decision?  Or not? (I leaned towards ‘not’)

The colleague who takes the Credit, from last week, had me very annoyed.  My personal take on this sort of situation would be just to get far away from the credit thief as possible, and if you cannot, then CC somebody else on all of your ‘big ideas’ emails and insist that a trusted third party attend any sort of brainstorming sessions.
